Juice Squeeze® was born in the Napa Valley in 1988, the brainchild of an avid runner and health enthusiast looking for a natural, carbonated refreshment that wasn’t laden with caffeine, high fructose corn syrup or other artificial ingredients. Formulated at the time with 70% Juice, 30% sparkling mineral water and seven essential vitamins, it was a soda alternative full of zest and flavor with no added sugar.
Juice Squeeze gained popularity as a family favorite for celebrations and as an everyday healthy beverage choice. It was a delicious fruit-flavored soda that adults enjoyed with a meal and parents felt good about sharing with their kids.
But with changes in attitude toward sugar, even sugar from juice, Juice Squeeze became less appealing to consumers seeking to reduce their sugar intake. Although fruit juice was the only sweetener, the content was high – between 38g and 40g per bottle – about as much as a can of regular soda. As a result, in 2016, Juice Squeeze was discontinued.
However, consumers continued to inquire about Juice Squeeze and we listened. We reformulated Juice Squeeze with half the sugar without compromising on taste or adding artificial sweeteners. Now made with 35% fruit juice, sparkling water, and natural flavors, Juice Squeeze is enhanced with a touch of natural Monk fruit juice concentrate for a full fruit flavored beverage to delight your palate and satisfy your thirst.
Four of Juice Squeeze’s original flavors – Ruby Grapefruit, Mountain Raspberry, Passion Fruit Mango and Wild Berry – are making their way back onto the market.
